ADVANTEST is the market leader in Semiconductor test systems and equipment (Automatic Test Equipment). It is also one of the world main players in the electronic measuring instruments business. The success is due to its technology-driver strategy and its longstanding experience in developing state-of-the-art designs and customer-oriented products since 1954. In further enhancing its global service and support for its customers, Advantest has established an extensive global operations network.

Advantest (Singapore) Pte Ltd (ASP), was incorporated in 1986 as a fully owned subsidiary of Advantest Corporation, Japan (AT). AT is listed both on the Tokyo Stock Exchange and the NYSE.

ASP was set up to promote and provide direct sales of Automatic Test Equipment and Electronic Measuring Instruments as well as to provide maintenance and application support and services to our customers in South East Asia region. Subsequently in 2000, South Asia region was also added to ASP's territory. Service offices in Malaysia and the Philippines were also set up in Aug 1992 and Oct 1997 respectively as part of our effort to better support customers.

In April 1996, ASP became a fully owned subsidiary of Advantest Asia Pte Ltd (ATA), the new Business Headquarters established in Singapore. ATA is itself fully owned by AT. ATA serves as the regional headquarters for Advantest’s operation in Asia (outside Japan) supporting subsidiaries in Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Korea and China.

As part of the regional headquarters' roles, ATA offered management services, personnel training to its subsidiaries and engaged in R&D, manufacturing and other engineering activities. ATA also set up the International Logistic Centre to provide logistical support for back-up boards and components on a round the clock basis for its global operations through its on-line, real time system.

On 1st Oct 2003, as part of the corporate re-structuring effort for better operation, ASP has merged and transferred all its business operations to ATA. On 30th Oct 2003, ATA has renamed itself to ASP for better business continuity and to take advantage of the established brand name of ASP in the region since 1986.

Today, ASP serves as the direct sales and service office to Advantest’s customers in South East and South Asia. In addition, ASP maintains the important role of regional headquarters for Advantest’s Asia operation (outside Japan).
